Welcome and happy reading!

Since, like anyone else, I receive tons of scam emails and snail mail letters, I decided to present here some of these. All of these (and many more which I just delete) are scams. This means, what the senders have in mind is to racket one of us. And according to what I've seen, they do succeed quite often.

If you have similar letters in your mailbox, either disregard or play with the person knowing that you can't give him (or her) any information about:

  1. Your bank account,
  2. Your address — or any valid address if that matter,
  3. Your family, and
  4. any other information that you judge private or even intimate.

Ha! I say "Your"... even if you don't like your neighbor at all, don't give his information either. The Internet leaves tracks (hackers in the US are being caught one after another!) and you would certainly be in even bigger trouble.

In the meantime, I hope you will enjoy reading these letters as I do myself once in a while. 8-)I do not always add comments with the letters since I usually don't have time to do so, but there would often be a lot of joke to tell!

I liked this one since: (1) I received the email late on Thursday July 5, 2007; (2) it is dated as if sent on the 4th, very late (after 22:00) which is a holiday in the USA; (3) it says that I have until the 3rd to react. Well I'm already two days late, and the bank sent me the email 1 day late... What am I supposed to do with that?! 8-)

Interesting title, hey?! "this proposal is 100% authentic."

Why would a scammer need to tell me that his email is authentic? Maybe because his email address looks weird...

    Return path is: zito_angelo@bellsouth.net
The email was sent to: jfe@jfe.com and that's not me?!
    Reply to is: lee_cheng00@yahoo.com.hk

So... a Steel Corporation which uses a BellSouth email account and asking me to answer to a Yahoo! email in Hong Kong. And it is authentic. Okay! I got it. It is an authentic scam. Did I win something there? 8-)

This is a new one! I got a grant for which I never applied. That's a bit strange, but I'll take it... hey! it's $1 million after all! 8-)

Okay... this one's funny. $168.559 million. Why not just $168 or $169... And also, imagine that much on a personal account. I think the IRS would ear about it at once and the FBI would be on your tail the next morning. Not very smart! But very funny 8-).

Il faut un premier pour tout je suppose... Voici un archeologiste qui va vous vendre ses objets d'arts pour une somme faramineuse... Et rassurez-vous, ceci n'est pas une arnaque comme on voit courement sur l'Internet!!!
